Meet the team

Club Vita draws creativity and strength from its multi-talented team.

As you would expect we have several experts in actuarial and statistical techniques, but look a little deeper and you will spot some unusual specialisms: pension fund benefit structures, artificial intelligence, administration practices, developments in health innovation, enterprise risk management, liability-driven investing and even life existence checking. And we all share a common bond in wanting to improve the management of longevity risk.

Find out more about our team and feel free to contact them individually for more information. If you can't find the right person you are looking for on our team page then please get in touch with us using our contact form and we'll pass on your details to the relevant person.

Douglas Anderson FIA CERA
Douglas Anderson FIA CERA
Founder of Club Vita

Douglas Anderson FIA CERA

Douglas is an entrepreneurial actuary, who provided the original inspiration for what we now know as Club Vita. His actuarial career spans thirty years: before focusing on longevity risk, Douglas advised trustees and corporate sponsors of final salary pension funds on funding and risk management issues.

Today, Douglas remains a hands-on leader to Club Vita, focussing his creative streak on the next opportunity for innovation and on sharing the benefits of Club Vita in Canada.

Douglas is also a passionate advocate for the benefits of joined-up, enterprise risk management techniques. You can read his thoughts on how to apply ERM to longevity here

Away from the office, Douglas enjoys gardening, skiing and cycling.

Andrew Gaches FIA

Andrew has been a key member of the team from the birth of Club Vita.  He has played an invaluable role in modernising longevity risk management techniques, using his rare ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into simple, digestible, messages.

Andrew is a regular speaker at conferences, has written articles and authored papers on longevity, and is a long standing member of CMI committees and working parties.

Outside work, Andrew's three young sons take up much of his time. When he's not chasing after his children, he enjoys running ‘ultra-marathons’ and is a keen amateur cook.
