Keeps your funding on track
There are a wide variety of factors that influence how long members of your scheme can be expected to live. We also see in VitaIndex that the ‘off the shelf’ tables currently available to trustees can provide a poor prediction of the actual pattern of deaths.
VitaCurves provide subscribers to Club Vita with their own personal baseline survival assumption tailored to the characteristics of their membership – VitaCurves are provided to you, and your scheme actuary, as an electronic portfolio of curves reflecting the different types of ‘demographic DNA’ observed in your scheme. As part of the VitaCurves service, Club Vita will also supply a post-code based
marker for each scheme member's longevity group based on where they live. These geo-demographic markers are known as VitaMap.
VitaCurves will also offer a convenient range of supplements for longevity improvement. The choice of the improvement model to adopt for funding will be yours, to take in conjunction with your scheme actuary. The baseline VitaCurves will be separately provided so that your actuary can readily value the
allowance for longevity improvement in your reserves.
What better way is there to comply with the Pensions Regulator’s guidance of ensuring that ‘mortality assumptions are justified by the evidence available’?
