Like Generation X, Generation Y has no one exact definition, but typically refers to those born in the 1980s and 1990s. Typically, Generation Y represents the children of baby boomers, although some are children of Generation X. The Generation Y birth rate is closer to that of the baby boomers rather than Generation X – for this reason Generation Y is also sometimes referred to as the ‘second baby boom’.
