Many projections of improvements in longevity assume that there is a limit to how far human life expectancy will increase, and that we are close to this limit. In light of a sustained trend of increasing life expectancy which is showing little if any signs of slowing, Steven reprised a presentation of his reseach originally presented to the Actuarial Profession in February 2007, discussing whether it is appropriate to allow for some minimum rate of year-on-year improvement (i.e. decline) in mortality.
